iQibla ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application and any associated services.

iQibla is an Islamic companion app that provides a Qibla compass, prayer times, Holy Quran reading and audio, and Duaa & Athkar supplications.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect any of the following:

• Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprints
• Usage analytics or behavioral data
• Location history or GPS coordinates stored on any server
• Crash logs or diagnostic data sent to our servers
• Payment or financial information
• Contacts, photos, or other device data

Location Data

iQibla requests access to your device's GPS location to provide its core features.

Your location is used solely to:

• Calculate the Qibla direction (bearing toward the Kaaba in Makkah)
• Calculate accurate prayer times for your geographic location
• Determine your country to automatically select the appropriate prayer calculation method

You can revoke location permission at any time through your device settings. The App will continue to function using your last known location.

Device Sensors

iQibla accesses your device's compass (magnetometer) and accelerometer to provide a real-time rotating Qibla needle. On iOS, this requires explicit user permission.

Compass and motion sensor data is processed locally on your device in real time and is never stored or transmitted to any server.

Notifications

iQibla requests permission to send local notifications to alert you at prayer times. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device using your local prayer times. No notification data is sent to or processed by any external server.

You can disable prayer time notifications at any time through your device settings.

Third-Party Services

iQibla uses the following third-party services to provide core Islamic content. These services are used solely to fetch religious data and do not receive any personally identifiable information:

• Aladhan.com — Prayer times calculation API. Your coordinates are sent to retrieve accurate prayer times for your location.
• AlQuran.cloud — Quran text and English translation API. No personal data is sent.
• cdn.islamic.network — Quran audio recitation files. No personal data is sent.
• BigDataCloud — Country detection from approximate location for prayer method selection. No personal data is stored.

Locally Stored Data

iQibla stores the following data locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device:

• Your last known location (to load prayer times faster on next launch)
• Your selected Athan sound and prayer calculation method preferences
• Bookmarked Quran ayahs and Athkar favorites
• Cached Quran surah list for offline access

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by uninstalling the App or clearing its storage through your device settings.

Children's Privacy

iQibla does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Union). The App does not collect any personal data from any user regardless of age, making it safe for use by people of all ages.

Your Rights

Since we do not collect any personal data on our servers, there is no data to access, correct, export, or delete on our end. You have full control over your device permissions at all times.

To manage the App's permissions on your device:

• iPhone (iOS): Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → iQibla
• Android: Settings → Apps → iQibla → Permissions

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's features or applicable law. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
